  • FINDING ANGLES, SHAPING LIGHT,
    BENDING COLOUR, MAKING MOVES...

It’s the choices that happen behind the lens that define what happens in front. As a cinematographer, it’s these choices I make every day, on location, all over the world photographing many acclaimed films & television series.

It’s also the knowledge that I share through my workshops & speaking engagements. Helping others acquire the techniques that will take their video & lighting to a higher level

JumpStart Training

You may aspire to work in corporate, broadcast or wedding production - on the other hand you might just like making your own videos. Attending this workshop could be the jump-start that you need and it's lots of fun sharing your passion with others. Training takes a non-technical approach and is structured to increase your confidence shooting with your video camera.

Who should attend

This is a one-day workshop and is suitable for anyone who aspires to learn the foundations of shooting video. It also caters for those who may already feel at home with the technology but are often disappointed with their results.

You’ll be shown some common shooting scenarios, and the way that you learn to approach them, will form the foundations for a whole string of shooting situations that you are likely to come across.

You will learn the logic behind shooting strong sequences, and you will be shown some in-camera techniques that will make your next edit a lot of fun.

Studio and location based

The day is packed with projected examples featuring still photographs, video clips, along with specially shot footage and live demonstrations using a studio set. But you won't be just sitting around. The afternoon includes an exterior practice shoot.
